Christmas Tree

We love getting our Christmas tree. We get a live one each year and the selection process is usually quite interesting. Each year, the kids want to add their thoughts. They will go to different trees (if they are opened) and inspect them to see which is the best. Quite a trick keeping them nearby while Craig looks through them all to pick out the best for our family.

This year's trek took us first to Wal-Mart. The past few years we have done pretty well with them. As Craig was examining one, he knocked the one next to it which created an amusing domino effect with about seven trees. The kids got quite a kick out of the fall. Unfortunately, we weren't too pleased with the selection so we moved on to store number 2 - Home Depot.

Home Depot had a great selection. The kids tried to stand in the tree stashes to stay out of the cool wind. We found a great tree that we are very pleased with at a great deal.

A couple of days later, we were able to take a night to decorate. We worked out a pretty good assembly line. I sat on the floor with all the ornaments. Each child would pick out one ornament and bring it to me to put the hook on it. Then they'd take it to Craig and he would hang up the delicate ones. If they were non-breakable, the kids would get to hang them.

The first decoration is always our angel - one of our friends made it the year we were married. They angel is holding dried flowers from the grooms men's boutonnieres from our wedding.
Craig hangs our 2009 family ornament up - it's the first ornament each year that is hung
Let the fun begin

I think everyone had a pretty good time!
