One More Xander Update

Last week, we took Xander in for his three-year check-up and his birthday pictures at The Picture People. He did pretty well at his doctor's appointment - until they gave him his flu shot. This year, they offered the flu shot as a mist and I thought that would go over better than the actual needle shot. I was wrong. The bad part was that once he realized that he hated having something sprayed up his nose, he found out he had to have it done again. The second spray was a bit harder since he was trying to avoid it. A few screams later, we finished. At this visit he also had his vision and hearing tested. He passed both! Here are his stats:

Height - 35.25 inches (7%)
Weight - 27 pounds (7%)

So, he's a box. But he's a cute little box.

Just as an FYI, here are the girls' stats at three years:

Trinity's Height - 36 inches (25% - this was her highest percentile)
Kalyn's Height - 35.50 inches (18%)

Trinity's Weight - 27 lbs, 1 oz (13%)
Kalyn's Weight -26 lbs, 8 oz (10%)

He did pretty well at the photo session too. It was raining a lot last week, so we scheduled an appointment during the day so Craig could go with us and the girls would be in school. The biggest problem we ran into (other than the fact they were running 30 minutes behind schedule) was that Xander has begun this new smile thing where he squints one eye and lifts up only half of his mouth, as if he's looking into the sun. It's a kooky thing, but doesn't make for the best pictures. Another distraction was the cute train that now travels around our mall. It looks like a fun little train for kids and parents to ride in, but when we are sitting at the photo room looking out into the mall, each time the train passed, it grabbed every ounce of his attention. So, here are the two pictures we ended up with.

Our annual picture in the birthday box

Let's just say this was one without the squinty, pirate look

He's gotten very lovey lately. He just looks at me every so often and says, "Mommy, I wove (love) you. I want to marwe (marry) you." You should see the look of sadness and dejection when I tell him that I'm already married to Daddy. His normal response is to say, "No, I want to marwe you." It is just too cute!! Not having a brother, this boy this is still new to me. I love discovering each day how he is so different than his sisters!
