We enjoy dressing up for Halloween. We're still at the ages where the kids are having fun in fun costumes and no one's asking for anything we feel is inappropriate. This year, Trinity wanted to be a chef (after thinking she wanted to be an Auburn cheerleader and then a cat), Kalyn was a Barbie princess and Xander was a lion.
Saturday night, we got the kids all dressed up in their costumes and headed out for some gathering of candy. We have a pretty small neighborhood, with only one other child, so we headed to another neighborhood. We had a fun time watching the kids go from house to house collecting yummy goodies. The kids were super excited about it (which unfortunately did not mix too well with two very tired parents). At the first house, they were running to and from the front door. We called out a number of times that they really needed to walk, not run (I have visions of someone taking a painful tumble). Not one house later, we had the spill. Xander fell first then Kalyn fell right on top of him. We had some tears (from Xander) and Xander still had a boo-boo on his knee, but they recovered quickly.

On the hunt for more candy
Unfortunately, it was drizzly and it got a bit chilly once the sun went down, so we didn't stay too long. The neighborhood was a great one to visit. Lots of people had decorations out and it seemed like most everyone was out on the streets. We even met up with our friends who live in the neighborhood. We returned home with so much candy - most of which will be put toward our shoeboxes.
Once we got home, the kids went to bed and Craig and I were not far behind. We put on our annual showing of "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken", but I think we only actually saw about half of it. The night was wild and crazy, but fun.
