We have been looking forward to Friday, July 24th for a few weeks. Kalyn has been counting down since she received a party invitation. It was a party for her friend Elijah and (more importantly) it was addressed only to her. Not to the whole family, not to all three kids, not even to her and Trinity, but to her and her alone.
She woke up Friday morning overflowing with excitement for the party. She could not wait until 10, when we were set to leave. When we decided to go to the gym Friday morning, Kalyn was became very concerned that we would be late to the party. However, we made it in time. It was a Disney themed party, but you would have thought you were walking into Disney itself. The yard was covered with Disney characters and the kids had all kinds of Disney-inspired games and activities. Kalyn had such a great time!!!

During the party, Trinity, Xander and I headed off for Trinity's school shopping. We had her list and I wanted to give her some semi-one-on-one time where she could help pick out her own supplies. She had a pretty good time and it helped in getting her more and more excited about heading back to school.
That afternoon, Craig and I began working in Xander's room. The poor boy will be three in October and he is still in his crib. I think it is simply because we hadn't thought about it. So, I decided that we needed to fix it. Then. Right then. Xander's crib is a convertible crib - it could change into a toddler bed and then into a "junior" bed (between and toddler and twin sized bed). Unfortunately, we couldn't find any pieces (online) to make it into a junior bed. After a bit of work, we had our finished product. Xander was so excited. When he saw it for the first time, he said, "That is so cool." He slept through the first night - no getting up and playing with the toys in his room.
We promise - he was really excited about the new bed
One more transition for the books.
Now if we can just finalize this potty-training thing.

Love the big boy bed and his room. Good luck with the potty training. Nathan turned 3 in May and we are still potty training.
