Our New Favorite Website

We have found a great new website. Many of you may have heard of it, but we're new to it. My friend, Jennifer, has gotten me hooked on this site. I've now used it and know that I'm going to use it many times in the future. The website is www.restaurant.com.

The idea behind the site is that you purchase a gift certificate for a discounted price. It's super easy. Simply type in your zip code (or any zip code you want to search in) and it will bring up participating restaurants within about 15 miles of that area. You can scroll through and see which places you'd like. There are links to a map, their menu and their website. Usually there are a few different options for the amount of gift certificate you can purchase - a $10 certificate is $4, a $25 is $10, and a $50 is $20. Not a bad deal. However, it gets better. They run specials. Last week they ran a 90% off special. We bought $25 certificates for $1!!! What a deal. I don't know how normal that deal is, but my friend tells me that they often run 60% and 80% deals. I'm all excited about that!!

The nice thing is that we're trying places that we haven't been to before. We're going places that we wouldn't usually go (because they are a little bit more that we usually spend). However, if we usually spend $30 on a meal, add that with a $25 gift card and that makes for a pretty good meal. Plus, we haven't run into problems using the certificates. (You just have to check the details for the specific restaurant - some are dinner only, food only, or certain days of the week). We are now supporters of this site. Love it when we find a good deal!
