The day after we returned from the beach, Kalyn headed off to her final year of preschool. She was excited about the start of the year and was looking forward to a new class with new teachers and new friends. I was ready for her to head out also, but of course in a good it's-time-for-you-to-get-out-of-the-hours-for-a-few-hours-a-day way.
This year has also brought a new addition to our house. Kalyn's friend, Ansleigh, is joining us a little before school begins and then comes home with her in the afternoon. They are good friends through church and the two girls have the same school schedule, so it's working out well.
Xander was a little taken aback that Kalyn was going somewhere without him. There were a few tears from the little boy. He had to have one more hug before she climbed into Craig's truck. It was truly a precious site!
Kalyn's first project was to complete a poster about herself. I really try and let my kids do their own projects as much as they can. There's a fine line there between letting them do it completely on their own and making sure it's at least readable. Here's her completed project.
