Friday was bubble gum day, so we had to have fun with that. We began our night with an online viewing of "How It's Made - Bubble Gum". We have recently become a big fan of this show and enjoy anytime we happen to catch it on tv. It was very interesting to see how this yummy, gummy treat is mass produced. Did you know that it's pink because that was the only color the inventor had when he invented it? Over time the main color has just stuck.
We had purchased a few different packs of Bubble Yum. We first held a mini-contest to see who could stack the pieces the highest. Craig and his engineering background was the clear winner.
Mad bubble gum stacking skills!!
We then gathered the toeses together for a little round of "bubble gum, bubble gum." Trinity was the grand winner. Way to go, girl.
We tried to teach the kids how to blow a bubble gum bubble. Within a few moments of handing out the bubble gum pieces, we realized that we had the three little bears in our home - Trinity's gum was too big (so we took half of hers and Kalyn's). Then Kalyn's gum was too small. Xander was just fine and never complained either way or another. Here's Kalyn's and Xander's attempt to blow their bubbles. (Trinity had thrown her piece out by now.)
Then, we cuddle up for a couple of bubble gum-themed books. I am becoming more and more familiar with tips of how to use our library and get the most out of it. It was quite interesting to watch me go in with my holiday themes and try and find matching books. It was another relaxing evening. I think these theme nights are going to be fun this month.
