Saturday afternoon, we left camp for our afternoon of celebrating the Fourth of July. We began with a local parade in the town of Tallapoosa. We had a good time chatting with Craig's parents and his aunt while we waited for the parade to start.
Just before the parade began, a large train went by downtown and we had to go watch it drive by.
Even Craig made sure the gum and extra-special treats were picked up (we didn't want the kids getting too close to the cars driving by).
Afterwards, we headed over to Craig's parents' home and met up with his family and a dear friend from his high school years. It was a wonderful time to catch up with our friends Sam and Laurie, enjoy some pool time, feast on some delicious food, spend time with Craig's family and put on a little fireworks show. We all enjoyed a chance to cool off in the pool before dinner.

Trinity was really good at trying to keep her stitches dry
Xander loved the diving boardThe boys were very excited about shooting off fireworks later that evening. They couldn't wait and just had to try some out early. We think Eliott had the right idea - run boy, run!!
Craig's uncle grilled out a delicious meal of burgers and dogs which was topped off with wonderful side dishes and a scrumptious dessert (of which I think Xander had three helpings). It was a great afternoon.
